Big blind

BB can mean the big blind seat or the unit used to describe stack, pot, and bet sizes in poker.

Why it matters

Big blind defense shapes many postflop ranges because the seat receives a discount preflop but plays out of position after calling.

Example

If the button opens and the big blind calls, the big blind often has many suited and connected hands but fewer premium pairs.
