Poker glossary
Blocker
Blockers remove combinations from the opponent’s range and can improve bluff, call, or fold decisions.
Why it matters
They turn close river decisions by changing how many value or bluff combos remain.
Example
Holding the ace of a completed flush suit can block the opponent’s nut flushes and improve a bluff candidate.
Trainer cue
Count what your cards remove; do not call a hand a blocker unless it removes relevant combos.
