Poker glossary
Minimum defense frequency
MDF is the share of a range that must defend against a bet so the bettor cannot profit by bluffing any two cards.
Why it matters
It provides a theoretical reference point for defending against polarized bets, especially on later streets.
Example
Against a pot-sized bet, a defender must continue about half the range to prevent automatic bluff profit.
Trainer cue
Use MDF as a checkpoint, then adjust for range advantage, blockers, and real opponent tendencies.
