VPIP
VPIP stands for voluntarily put money in pot and excludes forced blinds.
Why it matters
VPIP is a quick population read. Very high VPIP suggests loose ranges; very low VPIP suggests tight preflop selection.
Example
A player with 45 percent VPIP in six-max cash games reaches flops with many weak hands that a disciplined range can pressure.
Trainer cue
Use VPIP as a clue about range width, then verify with position, sizing, and showdown evidence.
